1. What motivates you to seek this office? What skills, experiences, and perspectives would you bring to the role of Assessor, and why would those contributions be valuable to the River Forest Township?

I enjoy helping the residents of River Forest understand the complicated assessment and taxing processes in Cook County. I bring over 16 years of experience as the River Forest Township Assessor. I have maintained a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer License as well as continuing education credits to keep current in assessment practices.

2. Give an example of a time when you worked to understand a situation or view different from your own. What helped you to move through that process? What hindered you as you moved through the process?

3. What does transparency mean to you? How would you put it into practice as Assessor?

Transparency in government to me means, providing all the requested information, if available, as clearly as possible, when requested.

4. Who or what is your role model for your approach to government service?

5. What do you feel are the three biggest issues facing River Forest, and what steps will you take as Assessor to address them? How will you prioritize among competing priorities?

The rising tax burden and inequity in assessment. Inform the residents and the Cook County Assessor’s office of opportunities to correct inequity in assessment.

6. How do you define racial equity? Have recent events and discussions in the larger community informed or changed your thinking?

Equity in the assessment field is, all properties assessed correctly.

7. How do you plan to solicit feedback from people who may be experiencing this community in a different way than you? What barriers do you believe may exist in this process?

We have many different forums for community outreach. We continue to inform the media and update our newsletters and websites to encourage involvement.

8. What is your position on the extent to which the Township includes or should include accessibility features? Please address both physical structures and virtual/information processes.

9. Assessors are required to carefully balance professional impartiality with responsiveness to community members who require assistance with appeals or exemptions. How would you describe your anticipated posture toward the public? 

I have consistently and will continue to demonstrate my ability and willingness to assist all River Forest residents with a positive, informative and professional manner.
